River City Community Church had a great run at the New Life Church building at 1665 N Mozart. It's hard to believe we were there for over 6 years! As Ivan Gonzalez, one of the River City elders, prayed over the transition on our last Sunday there, he used it as a time to remember the fact that many of us experienced significant life changing moments while in that building. Some of us came to faith there, some of us grew in faith there, and some of us took a huge stride forward in breaking free from something. Some of us met our spouse there, some of us had our children there, and some even grieved through the loss of loved ones there. It is a space that represents many moments for us.
But now we are moving on. Our future home will be ready of summer of 2013, so this next move is only a temporary one. Last year New Life took over ownership of Salem Christian School, and there is a church building attached to the school at 2018 N Richmond. The building is more than big enough for us, and we have access to much more children's space than we did at the previous location. The only downside is the parking - there are are only a handful of dedicated spots, so most of us are going to need to find street parking each week. Fortunately, the streets are not zoned nor overcrowded, so with a little bit of resourcefulness you should be fine. Please be flexible! This is only a 9-month stretch until we are in our permanent space.
You can click on the "Before You Come" link if you want to map the exact location, and feel free to email us at firstname.lastname@example.org or call us at 773-22-RIVER if you have further questions. And please continue to invest in and pray for our community! God is moving, and we are excited to follow where God leads.
