"The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth." (John 1.14) Hello River City!
We have fully entered the season of Advent, which connects us to our fellow brothers and sisters of faith in the "waiting" for the redemption that comes only through the power and love of Jesus.
In order to help us reflect on what that means for each of us, we are going to launch a 3-week series entitled "Dwell." This is the mystery of the Christmas story - that "the Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us."
The most common images of the Christmas story come from the accounts of Matthew and Luke - angels, shepherds, wise men, manger - but it is the Apostle John who spends the most time on the reality of the incarnation of Jesus and what that means for those who love and follow Jesus.
We will spend all 3 weeks of our next series studying John chapter 1, with a particular focus on the importance of the reality that Jesus became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We invite you to begin reflecting on this wonderful passage even now, and look forward to "waiting" with you this upcoming Sunday!
