Senior Pastor, Elder
Daniel Hill serves as Senior Pastor at River City. Guided by a vision to build a multicultural community of Jesus followers who transform the city of Chicago through worship, reconciliation, and neighborhood development, Pastor Daniel founded River City in 2003. He is led and inspired by a call toward spiritual renewal, social justice, and economic justice in the Humboldt Park neighborhood of Chicago.
Pastor Daniel is the author of White Awake, in which he builds a pathway toward racial awakening, starting first with the Biblical mandate of reconciliation, incorporating historical roots of white supremacy, and weaving in his own life’s journey of learning and understanding the system of race.
Pastor Daniel holds a Doctorate of Ministry from Northern Theological Seminary, M.A. in Biblical Studies from Moody Theological Institute, a certificate in faith-based community development from Harvard Divinity School, and a B.S. in Business from Purdue University. He and his wife, Elizabeth Arnott-Hill, a psychology professor, are loving parents to their two children, Xander and Gabriella.
