senior Pastor

Kerwin A. Rodriguez was born in New York City to Dominican immigrants. In July 2026, Pastor Kerwin began as Senior Pastor of River City Community Church. Kerwin and his wife Meredith are residents of Humboldt Park, where they live with their three sons Ezra, Elías, and Esaí.

Prior to accepting the call to pastor River City, Kerwin taught homiletics and pastoral ministry for more than fifteen years in both academic and church settings. He holds a Master of Divinity from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School, where he previously served as Chair of the Department of Pastoral Theology and Assistant Professor. He is also a PhD in Preaching Candidate at Baylor University where he will soon defend his dissertation exploring how the Latine narrative preaching tradition can counteract the harmful scripts of authoritarian regimes.

Kerwin has long sensed a call to Pastoral Ministry and has served in various ministry roles in local churches while teaching in theological spaces. He and his family love being a part of the Humboldt Park community and share River City’s deep commitment to the multicultural local church that sees and meets the needs of its neighbors.
